.A weldolet is a branch butt-weld connection fitting that is adhered to an outlet pipe to minimize stress concentrations in the piping area.to provide an outlet area from a larger to a smaller pipe connection point. The weldolet is welded to the larger pipe (the run) and connected to the smaller pipe (the branch).
The difference between a Sockolet and a Weldolet
Sockolets belong to the “socket fittings” family and are available in classes 3000#, 6000# and 9000#, whereas Weldolets are buttweld fittings. Sockolets are used for lower pressure applications, and smaller pipe diameters, than Weldolets.
